The McHenry County Community Foundation offers a variety of giving options to help you achieve your charitable goals.
We are a 501 ( c ) 3 charitable organization. Your donations are fully tax deductible as allowed by law when no goods or services are exchanged.
On-line donations are accepted on MasterCard, VISA, American Express, Discover, Pay Pal credit card, and your personal bank debit card.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County

 

The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. The Big Brothers Big Sisters Vision is all children achieve success in life.

 

Christmas Clearinghouse Fund

 

For over 40 years, The Rotary Club of Woodstock has been providing food baskets, toys and books the Saturday prior to the Christmas holiday to less fortunate families located within District 200 known as Christmas Clearing House.  The Rotary Club of Woodstock serves approximately 1,200 families & 2,000 children residing in the Woodstock and Wonder Lake areas each year.

 

Family Alliance Endowment Fund

 

Our primary goal is to assist individuals who desire to maintain independence in their current residence, whether living alone or with family or friends. A secondary goal is to be positioned to meet the physical and behavioral health demands of an accelerating senior population as a premier, person-centered adult care day facility and a comprehensive training center for family care givers and healthcare professionals.
Girls on the Run of Northwest Illinois

 

At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.

 

JourneyCare Foundation Endowment Fund

 

At JourneyCare Foundation, we hold on to the dream that end-of-life care will be available to all who can benefit. Your donation to the JourneyCare Foundation will help ensure that JourneyCare can continue providing compassionate, exceptional care to patients and families throughout our ten county service area for years to come, and that everyone who is in need of our services receives the support they need, regardless of their ability to pay.
McHenry County Conservation Foundation

 

Established by the McHenry County Conservation District in December 1999, the McHenry County Conservation Foundation (MCCF) is recognized as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation and preservation of open space in McHenry County.  Governed by a volunteer board of directors, MCCF strives to create and foster conservation partnerships that promote sound stewardship of our county’s natural environments.
Mental Health Resource League

 

The Mental Health Resource League for McHenry County was founded in 1967 as an auxiliary to the McHenry Mental Health Center. MHRL broadened its scope in 1967 to give financial aid to mental health-related agencies in McHenry County. The all-volunteer league has a membership of over 100 men and women who raise funds to help McHenry County mental health agencies supply the services needed in areas such as crisis hotlines, youth programs, abuse, addictions and developmental disabilities.

 

NAMI of McHenry County

 

 The National Alliance on Mental Illness of McHenry County (NAMI-McHenry County) is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to improving the quality of lives for those whose lives are affected by mental illness. NAMI-McHenry County offers an array of free services including self-help groups, educational classes, workshops, trainings, community presentations and advocacy.  These free services draw on the lived experience of individuals who have experienced mental illness in their lives.
Options and Advocacy Community Endowment Fund

 

 The mission of Options & Advocacy is to build resiliency in the individuals and families that we serve. Options and Advocacy for McHenry County has been making a difference in the lives of children and adults with disabilities since 1991. Last year we served 1,400 children and adults. We believe that every individual has the right to live, work, and play in the community of his or her choice.
Woodstock Christian Life Services Agency Fund

 

To offer hope, healing and purposeful living to older adults and children in the context of Christian communities. Hearthstone Communities accepts residents and students and renders services without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, gender, familial status or disability. To be a leading Christ-centered provider of innovative human service ministries.

The Rotary Club of Woodstock is committed to implementing community and international service projects to make your community and the world a better place.

Family Health Partnership Clinic

 

The Family Health Partnership Clinic will improve the health status of the community and reduce the negative impact of poor access to care by providing a broad spectrum of services to the underserved with compassion and respect. We recognize that as a community, we are responsible for each other.

 

Land Conservancy Fund

 

Since 1991, The Land Conservancy has helped protect nearly 2,200 acres of McHenry County’s prairies, wetlands and woodlands by working with private landowners, communities and other partners. We do this by accepting donated conservation easements and direct acquisition of property (through purchase or donation
McHenry County Extension Development

 

University of Illinois Extension brings the research from the University of Illinois to the McHenry County community, providing workshops in local libraries, schools and more. We provide classes on a variety of topics including money management, nutrition and wellness, home gardening and youth development.
Specialty Courts Endowment Fund

 

Certified in 2015, the McHenry County Drug & Mental Health Courts provides alternatives for individuals suffering from mental illness than the criminal justice system. These individuals are diverted from the traditional criminal justice system and are provided access to residential treatment, intensive outpatient treatment and probation services.

GIVE360

 

Launched in 2015, GIVE360 is designed to encourage philanthropy in a new group of donors utilizing the idea of collective giving. The program unites and informs emerging philanthropists to make a collective impact on McHenry County. This innovative program allows members to pool their dollars and, for less than a dollar a day, make a positive impact on our community.
Scholarship Funds
Joe Carnes Scholarship Fund

 

This fund was created by close friends and family of Joe Carnes, a Crystal Lake South High School graduate and pilot from Crystal Lake, IL in memory of his belief in the importance of education. Scholarships are awarded to deserving applicants from CL South High School who model the values of Joe with particular preference given to applicants pursuing degrees in aviation, education or community service.
Erling K Nor Education Fund

 

This fund was established through the estate of Erling K. Nor to support college scholarships for high school graduates of Alden–Hebron High School District #19.
Mariana Szeczeny Scholarship Fund

 

Graduating high school seniors from any McHenry County high school who demonstrate academic excellence and need for financial help.
Veteran’s Memorial Scholarship Fund

 

The VAC Veterans Memorial Scholarship was created to assist the children of veterans with the higher education program of their choice.

Bernie’s Book Bank – McHenry County

 

Friends are encouraged to support this program that provides 12 age appropriate books per year to children in low-income familes across the County, to encourage reading at home, and book ownership.The Bernie’s Book Bank Program will launch across McHenry County in Fall 2017, thanks to an initial gift from a local family.
Crystal Lake Strikers Fund

 

The Crystal Lake Strikers Inc., focuses on providing a performing outlet for drummers of college age and beyond.
MCHELP

 

MCHELP App is a quick click to reach immediate crisis support and information via text or voice. Donations to this fund will support the operational costs associated with offering the program.
Veterans Laptop Fund

 

This fund supports veterans at McHenry County College.  With these funds, students are able to purchase a laptop which will help them to complete school work.

Center for Nursing Education Fund

Provides at least three years of seed money for a new Nurse Practitioner’s Training Program at Family Health Partnership Clinic.
McHenry Latino Fund

 

Created through financial support from County banks and businesses that work closely with Latino Citizens, this fund was established to provide a financial source to grant funds to Latino programs and projects in McHenry County.

 Created to raise funds directed to run daily operations at the Community Foundation thereby strengthening our ability to deliver vital philanthropic services.
