The McHenry County Community Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) organization, created to give concerned citizens an innovative way to use their charitable dollars for the good of McHenry County. Unlike other charities, the Foundation will direct its unrestricted grants toward unmet needs within our communities. It will support new ideas, new programs, and deserving entities needing expansion dollars.

The McHenry County Community Foundation is a tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) public foundation established in 2001 to accept donor-directed funds and unrestricted endowments to grant seed or expansion money for unmet social, cultural, educational, and charitable needs throughout McHenry County. While providing philanthropic-minded citizens and nonprofit agencies with a central, local administered foundation, the McHenry County Community Foundation also seeks to be a community partner, and at times leader, in addressing local needs.
